The Bridge Community Church and Open Arms in Florestópolis – Brazil

For the fourth consecutive year a team from The Bridge Community Church traveled to the little town of Florestópolis Brazil for a week of activities with the children of Open Arms, our local church partner, and OA missionary Rosiemeire Soares.  The mission project included a week-long VBS outreach, encouraging our local teen volunteers, and further developing the bonds of fellowship with the local church.

Pastor Matt Windley, who led the team this year along with his wife Cheri, had this to say,  “Every year we come looking to serve and give, but we always find we get so much more in return. It’s been great to see the project grow over the years and this year there were approximately 80 kids at the project each day. This year, we saw many children trust in Christ for salvation and many more take other small steps of faith. God is at work and it’s always rewarding to share in that work for the brief time we are allowed!”

The partnership with The Bridge is the model for the way we like to see short-term missions integrated into our strategy for reaching children in Brazil with consistent, on-going Gospel outreach.  If your group or church would be interested in partnering with Open Arms through short-term missions please contact us at info@openarmsworldwide.org.
