New Life Emerges!

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness -Psalm 30:11

After a year and a half of pandemic in southern Brazil, a time where ministry shifted completely to house to house visits, emergency food assistance, home building, and online studies, Open Arms’ neighborhood Bible clubs, sports ministries, and youth bible studies have officially reopened! This time has been especially hard on the children and youth. The forces of darkness that are ever present in their communities didn’t shut down for Covid, and the months of limited fellowship took its toll. Praise God there are also many, many stories of young people ministering in their own communities, leading others to Christ, and whole families being impacted by the gospel.

What a blessing to see the children together with our Agents of Hope, and our teams of volunteers, back in fellowship, face to face! As we reopened, our team in the city of Assis also inaugurated a new bible club in a rural neighborhood called Cervinho (Little Deer). The children in this neighborhood are too far removed from the city to take advantage of activities and services provided in the urban areas, so our Agents of Hope are bringing new life to their doorstep.

The gospel is being preached, children and youth are being discipled, and the love of Jesus is being expressed in both word and deed. This is Open Arms.

Your partnership allows us to continue the work of bringing gospel hope to children and youth, and participate in the miracle of changed lives. On behalf of the children and youth of Open Arms, especially our newest neighborhood – Cervinho, thank you!
