Open Arms Newsflash

Manaus, Brazil – This month Patricia and I had the great privilege to teach and translate at a conference held for Pastors, and their wives, who serve in some remote parts of the Amazon Rain Forest in Brazil. This conference was put together by a wonderful ministry called Justice and Mercy Amazon (http://www.justiceandmercyamazon.org/) and was held in a conference center they built in the middle of the jungle. Alongside Pastors from the US and Brazil we were able to encourage and equip these men and women to build up the church in the area they have been called to. We specifically got to share with them Open Arm’s vision for reaching and teaching children and adolescents for the glory of God. Afterwards, as they thanked us and shared what they were already doing and how they planned to implement what they had learned, I couldn’t help but think of how beautifully God has knit together his people all around the world in an invisible network of prayer, giving, teaching, exhorting, and pioneering so that every child on the planet may one day know the love and hope that is available to them in Christ. Blessings for Sterling Park, VA Update:

February saw the launch of our first homework helpers club through this partnership and in March we will hold our first ever Open Arms Pinewood Grand Prix at the school. If you would like to sponsor a racer(s) you can do so for a donation of $10/child. This will cover the cost of their pinewood car and snacks at the event. You can make your donation towards one or more children online at DONATE NOW and enter “Grand Prix” in the comment field.
