This January a team from 4 area churches will be traveling to Brazil to work with Open Arms running an evangelistic camp for 350-400 children from our outreach projects in that region.  You can be part of that team by following our news and by helping one or more of these children attend camp.  The cost per child is only $30.  Just click HERE to get to the sponsorship page.

Homework Helpers in Sterling, VA
US Mission
Article ImageIn October the team from Open Arms and Sterling Park Baptist Church began our third year of Homework Helpers at a local Sterling elementary school.  This year we have a record number of children and volunteers.  This little elementary school serves a community with a large immigrant population where many of the children don’t speak English in the home.  These kids need all the help they can get as they try to integrate into their new country and each of our volunteers has been blessed beyond measure by just spending time with these exceptional young people.
He ensures that orphans and widows receive justice. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing. So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 10:18-19
Big Plans for our 10th Year
On July 12th Open Arms will celebrate our 10th anniversary as an organization and we want to start the next 10 years with a bang!  By January of 2016, with the addition of 2 more outreach programs to the 6 already in existence in the city of our birth, Assis-Brazil, we will have established an outreach in every at-risk neighborhood in that city of 100,000 souls!
Our goals for this year include the establishment of base in the Amazon city of Manaus, additional workers to expand our reach in the largest wetlands in the world, the Pantanal of central-western Brazil, and a new base in North Carolina to serve low-income neighborhoods in the Raleigh-Durham area.
We’ll need our friends to join us financially if we are to make these dreams a reality.  Would you consider joining us or increasing your support this year?  Click HERE to give towards putting gospel “boots on the ground” for the children of Open Arms.
