A birthday in the life of an at-risk child often goes by without fanfare, gifts, or parties to celebrate. For that reason, Open Arms Worldwide takes the opportunity of “Children’s Day” each year in Brazil (October 12th) to make much of all of the children that God has allowed us to serve. It is our desire that they would know, without doubt, that their heavenly Father rejoices over them.

Celebrations are held in each and every one of our neighborhood bible clubs, soccer schools, and youth bible studies. Our “Agents of Hope” rally their local community to provide gifts, food, and entertainment. Everyone from the local lawyers association to local businesses, and individuals get involved.

The entire neighborhood is invited out to participate in the celebrations and to hear the truth that God loves them so much that He sent His Son to rescue us from sin and death. That ultimately is why we do what we do. For the love of God, in the name of Jesus!

While you couldn’t be there to celebrate in person, there is a way you can be present in spirit. It is people just like you who pray and give generously that allow us to continue investing in these young lives, in families, in the Kingdom.
