July 2022 – News from the Field

“Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done,
the things you planned for us. None can compare with you;
were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” – Psalm 40:5

There are too many wonders to tell all of them, but we can share a few with you. I pray that these stories encourage your heart in knowing that God has used you in this way.

From Agent of Hope, Evandro de Melo Ribeiro –
“Last Sunday, Lucas, a teen who grew up in the BASE program (Open Arms Serving the Schools) and who today is a volunteer, was baptized into Jesus Christ.

He has walked with us since the beginning of the BASE program, received Jesus as his Savior, and has continued to grow in his knowledge of the LORD. We are very glad for what God has done in his life.”

From Agents of Hope, Bruno & Abby Gomes
In our regular home visits with the children in our mission we discovered that Peter and Samuel were having a lot of difficulty reading. Peter is in the 5th grade and Samuel in the 3rd, but neither is reading to grade level. In response we have started a literacy workshop to help them and other children like them. Peter and Samuel want very much to read and they are very happy and loving this time together. Of course we are loving one more opportunity to minister the love of Jesus in these young lives.

From our Field Director, Eduardo Ribeiro – We have just started our third cohort at the Open Arms Mission School in our headquarters city of Assis, São Paulo. Graduates from our last class have started a Missions Department in their church and already have of a group of 30 from the congregation meeting monthly to pray for specific missionaries as well as to reach out to them to see what their needs are and how the church can meet them.

Finally, last month we delivered yet another home to a family in need. Praise God for another home delivered! This one to the Rodrigues family. Thankful for our team who worked hard for 9 months, and for generous donors and partners like the Paradigm Foundation

“For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder for everything.” Hebrews 3:4

Partners like you allow us to continue investing in young lives, in families, and in the Kingdom, for the love of God, in the name of Jesus. On behalf of our Agents of Hope, and all the children and families of Open Arms Worldwide, thank you!

Sincerely,
