Kids Camp!
“Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.” – Jesus (Matthew 7:24)
Our annual Open Arms Kids Camp was held January 9–12 and centered on the theme “Going Against the Flow of the World.” Over four incredible days, 300 children and nearly 100 volunteers came together to experience God’s love in a joyful, intentional way.
We were blessed to host a team of 15 from CenterPointe Church in Venice, Florida, who brought contagious energy through games, crafts, a skit, and hands-on service. The children enjoyed perfect weather, energetic worship, meaningful Bible teaching, delicious meals, and lots of laughter, all while building friendships and connecting with Christ.
The teaching introduced the Sermon on the Mount, emphasizing the gospel message and inviting children to choose to build their lives on Jesus.
One of the most powerful moments came when a teenage volunteer from the U.S. shared her personal story of losing her mother to drug abuse and the deep sadness and identity struggles that followed. She shared how a friend invited her to church, where she began a journey that ultimately led her to Jesus. Many of the children at camp have experienced similar pain, with parents in jail or living on the streets, and it was incredibly moving to watch them connect with her story and feel seen and understood.
Throughout the week, the mission was clear to offer a tangible demonstration of the love of God found in Christ—and by every measure, mission accomplished. We are deeply grateful to everyone who prayed and gave sacrificially to make this camp possible. Your faithfulness made a lasting impact in the lives of these children.
